SNEAK PEEK: WEDGES

Stripes, stripes and stripes. I have better photos of this outfit coming up in a later post, but somehow I liked the way the striped shirt blended in the striped wall and thought I’d still post these in the shape of this Sneak Peek-post! Wearing my Banana Republic wedges always make me smile, since I remember so well the reason why I initially bought them in London almost three years ago. A friend of mine said I’d probably never use them and in a very natural way for me I of course had to prove her wrong and bought them. I did like them in the shop too, but I do have to admit that I’m more or less surprised by how much I indeed did use them.

By the way: I need to say that I’m shocked by how incredibly expensive the rents are in Helsinki! Of course I’ve heard people talk about this problem for many years, but I didn’t realise how expensive they actually were until now! I’m trying to approach the apartment problem by being the early bird and hunting down an apartment even before I’m 100 % sure of my spot at the uni and if I’m blessed with an admission to the school the I’ll sign the papers. In fact I found my dream apartment already when I first checked the different websites, but unfortunately the price is most certainly unsuitable for this future poor student. The location was perfect: it was a one room apartment in the centre of Helsinki at the Bulevard in a gorgeous old house and cost 1000 €/month – but also probably would have been worth every single penny, since it was one of the prettiest apartments I’ve ever seen… Anyway, the possible future apartment of mine is in a lot newer building and the rent is a lot more sensible than in the Bulevard one. If I am to get into the school and manage to get the apartment I simply can’t wait to start decorating my home!

Raitaa, raitaa ja raitaa. Tästä asusta on tulossa vielä paremmat kuvat myöhemmässä postauksessa, mutta jotekin fiilistelin näitäkin kuvia ja raitapaidan sulautumsita raidalliseen taustaan niin paljon, että ajattelin nämä kuitenkin Sneak Peekin muodossa postata! Hymyilyttää aina kun katson noita Banana Republicin kiilakorkoja, ostosyyhän oli puoliksi se, että eräs kaveri sanoi, etten koskaan tule niitä käyttämään ja niinpä ne oli sitten minulle tyypilliseen todistelutyyliin ihan pakko ostaa. Kyllä ne silloin kaupassa jo kolahtivatkin, mutta silti myönnän olevani yllättynyt siitä miten paljon sitten ihan oikeasti niitä käytinkin 😀

Pakko muuten päivitellä sitä, miten käsittämättömän kalliita vuokrat ovat Helsingissä. Tietenkin olen kuullut lukeamttomien ihmisten päivittelen kyseistä asiaa jo monta vuotta, mutta että NÄIN kalliita!? Yritän tosiaan mennä “aikainen lintu madon nappaa” taktiikalla ja metsästää kämppää jo ennenkuin opiskelupaikka on 100 % varma ja kirjoittaa lopullisen vuokrasopimuksen sitten varmistumisen jälkeen (jos se on tullakseen). Unelmakämppäni löysin kyllä ihan ensimmäisellä haulla, mutta hinta ei kyllä ikävä kyllä oikein ole sopiva tälle tulevalle köyhälle opiskelijalle. Bulevardilla sijaitsevassa vanhassa kerrostalossa olleen yksiön vuokra oli runsaat 1000 €/kuussa, mutta oli kyllä myös sen näköinen – asunto oli yksi ihanimmista, mitä olen koskaan nähnyt… Anyways, mahdollisesti tuleva kämppäni on paaljon uudemmassa talossa, ja vuokrakin on ihan kohtuullinen noihin muihin verrattuna. Mikäli opiskelupaikka varmistuu ja vuokrasopimus saadaan tehtyä en malta odottaa sisustamista ja muuttamista!!!!
