Ihanaa, ihanaa vapunjälkeistä elämää! Tämän vuotinen vappu oli kenties kaikista tämänastisista vapuista kaikkein paras! Maanantaiyönä palasin onnistuneelta kilpailureissulta Italiasta (tästä lisää seuraavissa postauksissa), enkä malttanut odottaa, että pääsen juhlistamaan onnistumista hyvässä seurassa. Käynnistelin vappua hitaasti lounastamalla rauhassa Stokkaalla, kiertelemällä kaupoissa ja ihan vaan nauttimalla elämästä rauhassa.

Illemmalla lähdettiin katsomaan Mantan lakitusta, josta siirryttiin Finlandia-talon kalliolle ja myöhemmin juhlistamaan vappua kotiini. Illalla päädyttiin vielä lähibaariin syömään vappupitsat. Kotona oltiin loppujen lopuksi jo kahden aikaan ja seuraavana aamuna olinkin pienen siivoilun jälkeen valmiina elämäni ensimmäiselle vappu-picnicille!

Vappupäivä vietettiin pitkälti picnicillä ja vitsi, miten ihanaa oli! Olen vuosikaudet kuullut Kaivarin legendaarisista vappupäivän picniceistä, mutten koskaan ole loppujenlopuksi päätynyt paikalle. Ihan loistava ilma, ihanaa syötävää ja hyvää seuraa – paljon enempää en olisi voinut toivoa! Kiitos kaikille mukana olleille ihan parhaasta vapusta!

// Happy, happy 2nd of May! 1st of May (and it’s eve) is a big celebration here in Finland, and this year was truly epic – for sure the best 1st of May I’ve had so far! On Monday night I returned from a successful competition trip to Italy (which I’ll tell you more about in later posts!!) and I simply couldn’t wait to get to celebrate it in great company. I started my day with a slow, peaceful lunch at Stockman, by shopping a bit and simply by enjoying life and a well deserved slow morning all by myself.

In the evening we went to put our graduation caps on together with tens of thousands of other Helsinki habitats (a Finnish tradition), from where we moved on to McDonalds and then to my place for a party. Later on in the evening followed some pizzas and chill at a nearby bar . Home time was already around two and in the next morning it was time for my very first 1st of May picnic!

The main day – 1st of May – was spent on a picnic and I’m amazed to say how great it was! Year after year I’ve heard about this legendary picnic, but I’ve never managed to get there. The weather was perfect, the park fuller than I even could’ve imagined, there was great food and great company – I couldn’t have asked for much more! Thanks to everyone who participated in making this 1st of May so special!
