Kuten jo edellisessä postauksessa lupailin, ajattelin nyt jakaa muutamia puhelinkuvia, kokemuksia ja ajatuksia tältä ensimmäiseltä Lontoossa vietetyltä viikolta. Viikko on mennyt ihan uskomattoman nopeasti ja olen superkiitollinen siitä, että elelyä täällä ennen Suomessa käymistä on vielä ainakin kuukausi. Ihan parasta. Tänä viikkona on ollut aivan ihana todeta, että yhteistä aikaa tuntuu olevan mielin määrin. Mitään ei tarvitse kiirehtiä, vaan voidaan kerrankin elää ihan vaan tavallista arkea. Kuulostaa ehkä tyhmältä, mutta tätä ollaan todellakin kaipailtu.

Nyt kuitenkin katsaus kuluneeseen viikkoon. Monet kuvista ovat jo vilahtaneet Insta-Storieiden puolella, mutta ajattelin, että näitä on kuitenkin vielä kiva vähän avata! Ja niille, jotka eivät sieltä vielä ole minua löytäneet; Instassa löydyn nimellä @vivianaleksandra. Nyt kuitenkin kuulumisten pariin!

// As I promised in my previous post, here comes a few pics through my phone as well as some thoughts and experiences from my first week spent here in London. The week has gone unbelievably fast and I’m so grateful there’s is still more than a month left of being here before visiting Finland again. I could ask for much more, but this is already great! 😀 It has been so great to feel that we have time to do whatever we want. Nothing has to be rushed and for once we can just live like ordinary people. Might sound stupid, but I’ve really missed and wished for this.

Anyway, now a brief look into what the past week has looked like. Some of you might have seen some of the photos in my Insta-Stories, but I thought it’s still nice to share the stories behind them here! And for those of you, who aren’t yet following there – you can find me @vivianaleksandra.

MONDAY

Saavuin Lontooseen aikaisin maanantai-aamuna. Saatuani kaksi matkalaukkuani raahattua kotiovelle asti siivoilin hetken, söin ja lähdin tutustumaan yhteen tämän kesäisistä harjoittelupaikoistani. Illalla järjestin tavarat kaappeihin ja kävin lyhyellä kävelyllä ympäri Greenwichiä. Täällä on ihan super kaunista ja vehreää!

// I arrived in London early on Monday morning. After dragging my two bags to our appartment I cleaned a bit, had some lunch and left to check out one of the two churches where I’ll get to practice this summer. In the evening I unpacked what was still left and went for a brief walk around Greenwich. It’s so, so beautiful and green over here!

TIISTAI & KESKIVIIKKO

Tiistai ja keskiviikko sujuvat aika lailla omalla painollaan lähinnä harjoitellen ja uusiin kotikulmiin tutustuen. Vaikka päivät sinänsä eivät ehkä innostaneet oli aivan ihanaa vihdoin taas päästä olemaan yhdessä poikaystäväni kanssa ja katsoa väliin jääneet uuden kauden jaksot Game of Thronesia. Näitä hetkiä on odoteltu!

// Tuesday and Wednesday were quite boring – mostly I just practiced and settled down. The best part of these days was nevertheless finally reuniting with my boyfriend who came back from a work trip and watching a few episodes of the final season of Game of Thrones. What more could a girl ask for!

TORSTAI

Torstai-iltapäivänä nähtiin yhdessä ihanien Stellan ja Jossen kanssa, jotka – uskomatonta, mutta totta – molemmat asuvat kävelyetäisyydellä meistä! Stellan tunnen jo lapsesta saakka ja Josse on lukioaikainen luokkakaveri, ja tuntuu hauskalta ja kotoisalta, että molemmat ovat päätyneet tänne ja ovat näinkin lähellä. Torstaina olikin ihanaa vaihtaa kuulumisia auringonpaisteessa kattoterassilla Thames-joen rannalla.

// On Thursday afternoon we met up with lovely Stella and Josse, both of whom – unbeliveable but true – live at walking distance from our place! Stella I’ve known since we were children and Josse is a friend from back in high school, and it feels so fun and cosy that both of them have ended up here and are this close! It was absolutely lovely to hear what’s up with them whilst sipping wine in the sunshine on a small roof top terrace along sides the Thames.

PERJANTAI

Perjantaina oli aika täyttää kansalaisvelvollisuutemme ja näin ollen suunnistimme Stellan kanssa äänestämään Suomen suurlähetystöön. En ole koskaan ennen äänestänyt ulkomailla enkä myöskään ennakkoon, joten kokemus oli ihan hauska. Pienten reititysongelmien jälkeen löysimme tiemme suurlähetystölle ja äänestimme. Suurlähetystöalueen ihastelemisen (ja kuvaamisen) jälkeen suuntasimme vaalikahveille ja kävelylle Green Parkiin. Ilta meni puolestaan mukavasti sängystä käsin itsetehtyä pitsaa syöden ja Netflixiä katsellen.

//On Friday we decided to fullfill our civic duties and go voting in the EU-parliament elections. I’ve never voted from abroad nor in advance before so it was quite exciting! After struggling a bit with the subway we found our way to the Finnish Embassy and gave our votes. After voting and admiring the absolutely gorgeous area around the embassy, it was time for a quick post-voting cup of coffee and stroll after which we headed home. The evening was spent in bed with home made pizza and some Netflix.

LAUANTAI

Lauantaita vietettiin aika rennoissa merkeissä. Myöhään nukutun aamun jälkeen suunnistimme Canary Wharfiin ostoskeskukseen, josta muun muuassa kuvissa näkyvä ihana pinkki jakku löytyi! Illalla vietettiin puolestaan kunnollista treffi-iltaa ja käytiin kävelyllä, yksillä ja ulkona syömässä joen varrella. Paljon ihanampaa iltaa en olisi voinut toivoa – täällä on kyllä hyvä olla.

// Saturday was spent mostly chilling. After sleeping in and enjoying a slow morning we navigated ourselves to a nearby mall for a brief shopping spree and amongst others found the gorgeous pink jacket you can see in some of the pictures! In the evening it was time for a proper date night during which we went for a walk, to have drinks and have dinner along sides the river. I couldn’t have wished for a much nicer Saturday – I really enjoy being here so, so much.
