Aika luoda katse kuluneeseen kuukauteen! Elokuu oli ihana, mutta kului uskomattoman nopeasti – miten voi olla jo syyskuu! Sää on ollut lähestulkoon täydellinen, ja olen iloinnut kovasti siitä, että niin moni ystävistäni on ollut maisemissa. Olisin ehkä voinut olla vielä tehokkaampi tässä kuussa, mutta toisaalta tiedän, että syksy lähestyy kovaa vauhtia. Työtä ja tekemistä tulee olemaan enemmän kuin tarpeeksi, joten elämästä nauttiminen tässä välissä taitaa olla ihan suotavaa. Mitä kaikkea olenkaan siis tehnyt?

Time to take a look back at the highlights of my camera roll from the past month! August most certainly wasn’t my most efficient month this year, but knowing what a fall I have ahead of me I’m trying to be forgiving about it and instead enjoy every moment I can before I need to focus and work my ass off again – which, to be honest, is more or less right now 😀 However, before I pull myself together again, let’s take a look back at some of my favourite moments!

Viime perjantaina suuntasimme illallistamaan kahden ihanan ystäväni kanssa. Aloitimme kuohuviinilasillisilla minun kotonani, siirryimme yhteen suosikkiravintoloistani Helsingissä, söimme yhden ihanimmista illallisista pitkään aikaan, ja päätimme illan spontaaneihin drinkkeihin Groteskissa. Tämä punainen mekko oli käytössä ekaa iltaa ikinä ja viihdyin siinä ihan valtavan hyvin. Pukeudun usein valkoiseen, mutta tämän mekon myötä on kyllä pakko myöntää, että punainenkin on aivan ihana väri!

Last Friday we decided to go out for a dinner with two of closest my friends. We started off with a glass of sparkling wine at my place, moved on to one of my favourite restaurants in Helsinki, had the best dinner I’ve had in a long, long time and ended the night with a fantastic spontaneous night out at Grotesk. This little red number got its first night out and it was perfect. I often wear white, but damn, red is a nice colour too!

Uskokaa tai älkää: olen edelleen käynyt säännöllisesti aamulenkeillä! Tavoitteenani on lenkkeillä neljästi viikossa ja ainakin toistaiseksi olen onnistunut tavoitteessani. Tämä viikko saattaa tosin osoittautua haasteellisemmaksi kuin aiemmat, sillä sää näyttää aika ikävältä 😀

Believe it or not: I’m still going strong with my morning runs! My goal is to run 4 mornings a week and so far it’s been going great. This week might turn out to be a bit more challenging though, as the weather seems to be quite rainy… 😀 Going out for a run in the morning is a challenge as it is, going out for a run in the morning in the rain takes that challenge to a whole new level, haha.

Vietimme erään kesäillan seikkaillen ympäri Kruunuhakaa. Alue on niin kaunista! Olemme asuneet nykyisessä asunnossamme melkein puoli vuotta, mutta lähialueisiin tutustuminen on jäänyt turhan vähäiseksi. Pitää alkaa kiertelemään täällä useammin!

My sister and I spent a summer evening a few weeks ago exploring one of the most beautiful areas of Helsinki. We’ve been living in our apartment for almost half a year now, but haven’t really made use of the opportunity to explore the city from this new point of view. This is one of the oldest parts of Helsinki and, if you ask me, also one of the most beautiful ones.

Tässä on kesän ylivoimaisesti käytetyin juhla-asu – en pysty yhden käsin sormin laskemaan, miten moneen otteeseen olen tähän pukeutunut! Vierastin pitkään vartalonmyötäisiä mekkoja, mutta tämä Reissin alennuksista löydetty kultakimpale pääsi yllättämään toden teolla.

By far my most used party look this summer, I can’t even count the times I’ve worn this outfit! I never thought I could feel this comfortable in a bodycon dress, but this beauty from Reiss does the trick every single time. Love it!

Väsyneen sunnuntaiaamun harjoittelusessio. Jos olen jotain tästä kesästä oppinut, on se harjoittelulle omistettujen päivien arvostaminen. Tuntuu tosi hassulta todeta, etten todennäköisesti enää koskaan tule viettämään päivä-, viikko- tai kuukausitolkulla aikaa ainoastaan soittaen.

Tired Sunday morning practice. During this summer I’ve truly learnt to appreciate the past years when I’ve had the chance to focus only on playing days, weeks and months to an end. It feels strange to realize I most likely won’t get to play like that ever again!

Ihanat rose-kuoharit kauniista laseista hyvässä seurassa ja upeissa maisemissa. Ei valitettavaa.

Summer night in the city.

Kotikulmilla. Töölössä asuminen oli monella tapaa idyllisempää, mutta jollain tapaa oloni on paljon kotoisampi täällä keskustassa. Odotan ulkomaille muuttamista ja uusia tuulia innolla, mutta siitä huolimatta on ollut ihanaa saada viettää vielä yksi kesä ihan Helsingin ytimessä.

My hoods. Although my old area was in many ways more idyllic, I feel so much more at home here. I can’t wait to move abroad towards new adventures, but at the same time I’m really happy to have had the chance to live in the center of the center like this.
