Talvi lähenee loppuaan ja kevättä on vihdoin ilmassa! Tiedän hyvin, että takatalvi tekee todennäköisesti vielä tuloaan, mutta siitä huolimatta jaksan iloita valosta, auringosta ja lintujen laulusta ihan loputtomasti. Koska tiukentuneet koronarjoitukset ja kesäkuun loppuun asti voimassa oleva ‘tanssikielto’ vetävät mielen maahan, on kaikki valo enemmän kuin tervetullutta – oli kyseessä sitten kirjaimellinen tai kuvainnollinen .

Ennen kuin pääsen siirtymään kevätvaatteisiin (en malta odottaa…!) minulla on vielä muutama talviasu postaamatta – tämä mukaan lukien. Pipo, huivi ja takki ovat olleet talven parhaimpia ostoksia, ja olen käyttänyt niitä lähestulkoon päivittäin – pahimpia pakkaspäiviä lukuunottamatta, jolloin villakangastakki on pakosta vaihtonut untskaan.

Vaikka olen kovin innoissani keväästä, elämä on tällä hetkellä muilta osin rehellisesti sanottuna aika laimeaa. Tekemistä ja opiskeltavaa on niin paljon, ettei aikaa jää yli paljon muulle kuin nukkumiselle. Vaikka yritän muistuttaa itseäni siitä, että pitää muistaa olla kiitollinen siitä, että saan edetä kohti tavoitteitani suunnitelmieni mukaan pandemiasta huolimatta, työmäärä tuntuu nyt aika isolta. Siksi viikon iloisin uutinen on ollut se, että yhden viikon kevätloma pidennettiin koulun toimesta kahteen viikkoon. Tämän tiedon voimin ja ihania lomapäiviä ajatellen jaksan hyvin vielä viimeiset viikot tätä kevätlukukauden ensimmäistä puoliskoa! Nyt palaan kuitenkin takaisin töihin! Palaillaan taas pian!

The winter is coming to an end and there is so much spring in the air! The Finn in me knows very well there is still a backlash, many weeks of minus degrees and a lot of snow ahead, but nevertheless: the light, the sun and the singing of the birds is more than enough to get me really, really excited for what is to come. Considering that there hasn’t been too much to look forward to with the Covid-restrictions tightening again and a ‘dance ban’ being put to place until the end of June, any light – figurative or literal – is more than welcome.

Before I get to move on to spring wear (another thing I am beyond excited for!) there are a few last winter looks to post – including this one. The hat, the scarf and the coat are some of my best buys this winter and have been worn on more or less a daily basis – with the exception of the few weeks of -20 degrees that we had. Needless to say, hardcore layering has been my best friend this year!

Besides being excited for the spring, life is honestly quite boring at the moment. With everything that is going on, I barely have time to sleep enough, let alone to do something fun. Although I try to insist and remind myself to be grateful for being able to work towards my goals in accordance with my plans despite the pandemic, I must admit the workload has felt slightly senseless lately. Delightfully, however, our one week spring break was prolonged into two – and with this knowledge I know I’ll be able to push through the final weeks of this first half of the semester!
